If theres one thing we have learned from the trendsetters, celebrities and beauty vloggers, its that a look will always remain incomplete without donning some falsies. And before you go all judgmental about putting on false eyelashes, think for a moment; name any famous celebrity out there, and they have probably used these lashes. In fact, they might be roaming the streets of LA right now flaunting them. If you think they never wear it, then thats probably they are using a pair of some really awesome lashes. Maybe some of them are born with naturally thick and long lashesbut that kind of luck runs in scarcity.
It is difficult to stay with your original lashes once you have discovered the powers of the fake ones. Its a pretty safe addiction except for the fact that it requires one to buy false eyelashes every time they go out. The good news is, with proper maintenance and care, you can save many trips and money.
Following are some tips to make your falsies last longer:
1. Buy one:
In order to take care of your lashes, obviously, youll need to buy at least one. The quality and the kind of false eyelashes also matters when you want one to last longer. Ardell lashes are one of the best in the market and they offer a wide range to choose from. Natural looking, or glittery ones, Wispies or spidery choose whatever you like. Remember the choice of lashes matters a lot in maintaining it. Bad quality and stiff ones can barely last a day. Next, put them on and do your makeup. Dont forget to keep the container in which they came. You can Buy Ardell lashes at your local beauty supply, drugstore chain or online.
2. Remove with care:
The first step of maintenance begins with taking off your false eyelashes with utmost care. Points to remember, never ever use your nails, eyelash curler, tweezers or any other tools to remove your lashes. In order to remove falsies safely, without harming themor your eyesis to use the soft pads of your fingers. This way, it wont break or crease the hairs of your fake lashes. Begin with grasping the outer edge of the lash with your thumb and forefingers and peeling it inwards, the lashes will come off in your hands. Repeat the same with the other lash. In a case of individual lashes, grab the end of one cluster and gently pull them off. Individual lashes require a little more focus as they are prone to breaking.
3. Remove the adhesive:
Once the lashes are safely off, the next step is to remove the glue from them. And if you have put on makeup too, then youll find your hands full with lashes filled with glue and gunk of eye makeup. It is very important to remove these things form the lashes and clean it off properly because if left unattended, theyll harden off and ruin the lashes. While there are many cleansers to remove the glue, dont waste your money when your fingers can do the job perfectly. Use both of your hands, grab your lashes lightly in one hand and pull the glue from the other. Keep at it, until all the glue is off and the band of the lash is visible.
Again, individual lashes will take a little more effort, but the result will be the same. Grab the hair and pull at the glue from the base. Theyll easily come off; you just have to be careful to not pull the hair along with the glue.
While it is easy to remove the glue from the fake lashes, there is still the matter of removing makeup and mascara that you must have put atop the fake lashes. While the combination of mascara and eyeliner looks extraordinarily good with fake lashes, they are not so good for the health of your lashes. So before you out your lashes away for the next use, make sure to get rid of the entire makeup. Dont worry; it is easier than it sounds. All that is needed is an oil-free makeup remover, cotton swabs, and some tissue.
The process is simple enough; just place the false eyelashes on the tissue and put your finger on them lightly to prevent them from moving whilst cleansing. Next, dip the cotton swab into the bottle of make-up remover, take it out once it has complete dipped into the makeup and then use the cotton swab to remove the makeup from the falsies starting with the entire length of the band and then moving to the fringes. Flip them around and repeat the same process on the other side. Make sure to remove the access make-up remover from the cotton swab before using is or it will drip on the lashes and theyll start curling.
5. Put them off:
Take precautions, and do not put off your lashes until they have completely dried off. Also do not use sunlight or any other source to dry them off. Just air would do, sunlight or heat will fade the color off curl them. Once they have completely dried off, take out the half moon tray and the shut-off lid of the container and place it in them. Put them, in the same way, they came, with bands wrapped around the half moons so that it will stay in shape. Do not allow dust to accumulate on the lashes as they are the enemies of lashes. Basically, every foreign thing is the enemy of your falsies. If you have somehow thrown off these boxes, then you can always buy really cute cases online. So do the same with the individual lashes place them back in their case and keep your tweezers far away from the lashes. If done right, these lashes can last for many years without a single defect. Imagine how much money could be saved. And while the process looks long, it takes merely five minutes from start to finish.
